Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the class size?

The maximum class size is 6 students per class. Classes are kept small for a more personalised learning experience and ensure that each student gets the attention that he/she requires.

2. What platform do you use to conduct the lessons?

Live lessons are conducted via Zoom. Only registered students can attend the lesson through a password-protected link.

Google Classroom is the platform through which lesson materials and homework are disseminated. Students can also try simulation programs, find links for further self-exploration and upload their completed homework via this platform. Parents can monitor their child’s progress and grades as well.

3. What does my child need for online lessons?

Your child will need:

  1. A laptop or tablet with internet connection for Zoom lessons.
  2. A conducive environment to learn.
  3. A Google account to use Google Classroom.
  4. Lesson materials which have been downloaded or printed prior to each lesson. Students are expected to take notes during the lesson (physically or digitally).
  5. The recommended assessment books for each level.
  6. CamScanner app (or similar) to take photos of homework for submission.

All new parents and students will be briefed on the administrative details and guided to use the above mentioned platforms and programs upon signing up for a class.

4. What materials will my child be using?

  1. Notes which are specially written by Dr Goh for each course.
  2. Relevant assessment books and past year practice questions from schools.
  3. YouTube videos made by Dr Goh.
  4. Simulation software and other online resources for selected topics.

5. Can my child learn effectively in an online group class?

Students who have attended Dr Goh’s online classes have found her lessons engaging, interactive and interesting. She ensures that students are paying attention during class, and provides detailed and personalised feedback when marking homework.

Students can further clarify their doubts through Q & A sessions after class or via e-mail during the week.

Majority of the students who attended Dr Goh’s online P6 class last year scored an A or improved by 1 to 2 grades for PSLE within 6 months.

Dr Goh will give personalised attention to students who have additional learning needs and ensure that no student falls behind in class.

6. What can I do to support my child’s learning?

Parental support is vital in helping your child reach his/her full potential. Dr Goh works closely with all parents and provides regular updates on your child’s progress. Parents can help to ensure that:

  1. Your child has the necessary lesson materials ready for each lesson.
  2. Your child submits his/her homework on time each week.
  3. You child reads and understands the feedback provided with all marked homework.

Please feel free to contact Dr Goh if you have any concerns about your child’s progress and she will work with you to address these issues.

7. What are your fees and how are fees collected?

The fees for various levels may be found here. Fees for the month’s lessons are collected at the start of each month, before the first lesson of the month. Fees may be paid through PayNow, PayLah or internet bank transfer. Payment details will be provided upon registration.

There are no deposits or registration fees required.

8. Can I get a refund for fees that have been paid?

Fees paid are non-refundable. Should you withdraw your child from the class before the end of the month, you can get a credit for the fees paid, prorated for the number of un-utilised lessons. This credit may be used to offset fees for Holiday Programs, or transferred to another student.

9. Can I get a refund for lessons that my child has missed?

If your child misses a regular tuition lesson due to an illness or ad hoc school activities, please provide documentary proof (eg. a Medical Certificate or school’s letter). A make-up lesson may be arranged, subject to Dr Goh’s availability. Alternatively, the credits for the missed lesson can be used to offset the following month’s fees.

For ad hoc students attending School Holiday Revision Programmes, Dr Goh will arrange a make-up lesson where her schedule permits. Otherwise, the student will be provided with a video recording of the missed lesson (Please liaise with Dr Goh prior to the missed lesson to make the necessary arrangements).

There will be no make-up lessons, credits or pro-rating of fees if your child misses lessons due to other reasons, such as going on a vacation. Please plan your vacation around the class schedule, as it will be disruptive to your child’s learning otherwise.

10. Can I sign up for a trial lesson?

Students are encouraged to sign up for a minimum of one month to get a good feel of Dr Goh’s approach, and benefit from the learning resources more fully. During this month, all new students enjoy an introductory rate for the fees.

Since there are no deposits or registration fees, there is no obligation for students to stay on beyond the month. We are confident of the effectiveness of our lessons, and a number of students have continued with Dr Goh from Primary through to Secondary school.

11. Are there any special rates for siblings or friends ?

Yes! Sign up with a friend or sibling and both students will enjoy 5% off the regular fees as long as both remain students of Experience Science. If one student withdraws, the fees for the remaining student reverts to the regular rate.
